Grace and peace to you on behalf of Salem Baptist Church,

I am delighted that you have stopped by to visit our website. Whether you are new to the area, looking for a doctrinally sound church, or have recently come to the realization that God’s Word is truth and want to learn more about Him, I am grateful that God has brought you here. God is in the process of reforming our church that is located in the heart of rural North Livingston Parish. This means that we are growing from the inside out, as the Bible is preached, taught, and lived out in the context of our covenant body. Psalm 126:1-3 captures the joy that God has given us, as our hearts are captivated by the matchless grace that He supplies from above:

When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad.

Psalm 126:1-3 ESV

We are glad. I sincerely believe that if you visit with us, then you will leave thinking about Salem Baptist Church what the nations said about Israel: “The LORD has done great things for them.” The Lord is doing great things for us, not because we are worthy, but because He is great. Christianity is about God saving sinners through the Person and work of His Son, Jesus Christ. He is our Prophet, Priest, and King. Therefore, the focus of Salem Baptist Church is on glorifying and praising Him for what He has done for us, and telling the good news that Jesus saves sinners to our neighbors and even our enemies. This is who we aspire to be. I hope that you will come and be a part of the great work the Lord is doing here, for His own glory. Please make plans to visit us soon.

Rejoice,

Pastor Chad Chauvin
